Fairy Meadows Pakistan is the designated conservation National Park located at the altitude of 3300 meters (over 10,826 Feet) above sea level. Its a grassland near one of the base camp sites of the Nanga Parbat, located in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It serves as the launching point for trekkers summiting on the Raikot face of the Nanga Parbat. Nanga Parbat, is the ninth highest mountain in the world at 8,126 metres (26,660 ft) above sea level. Fairy Meadows National Park lies at the confluence of Raikot River and Indus River near Raikot Bridge.
You can access the Raikot Bridge by following three routes :
1- Islamabad/Rawalpindi to Raikot via N35 Korakoram Highway (Mansehra, Battagram, Besham , Dasu , Chilas) :Â 427 KM around 11 Hour 30 mins drive. This route is open throughout the year as its a lifeline for Pak-China Trade.
2- Islamabad/Rawalpindi to Raikot via N15Â Highway ( Mansehra, Balakot, Kaghan, Naran, Jalkhand, Chilas) :Â 453 KM around 10 Hour 35 mins drive. This route is usually closed during the Peak Winter Months ( November – February) but remains open in rest of the year.
3- Gilgit to Raikot via N35 Korakoram Highway : 78 Km , around 1 Hour 30 Mins Drive
Once you reach Raikot Bridge, Fairy Meadows is approachable by a twelve kilometer-long jeepable trek starting from Raikot bridge on Karakoram Highway to the village Tato. Further from Tato, it takes about three to four hours hiking by a five kilometer trek to Fairy Meadows. The grassland is located in the Raikhot valley, at one end of the Raikhot glacier which originates from the Nanga Parbat and feeds a stream that finally falls in the River Indus.

The six-month tourist season at Fairy Meadows starts in April and continues until the end of September. Depending on the snow fall during the season, the tourist activity could start as early as March. Best time to visit fairy meadows is July-August when temperatures are high and the sky is clear to view the majestic Nanga Perbat – The Killer Mountain.
Due to high elevation, weather in Fairy Meadows Pakistan is very chilly in the evenings and night. Rain is also common in the areas so its always suggested to carry good winter clothes to keep oneself warm at all times.
Pari Mahal (FairyPalace) is the area in front of Fairy Meadows Cottages , it was named by the famous Japanese photographer, Fujita Heroki. The Fairy Meadows Cottages are at a distance of eight minutes hike from main village and other tourist resorts with its breath taking natural view of great Nanga Parbat.
There are several hotels and tourist lodges available to facilitate tourists in Fairy Meadows. Many tourists like to stay in camps on grassy places.
